California Legislature Passes Bill Targeting Doctors Promoting COVID-19 'Misinformation'

California’s legislature has passed a bill that takes aim at doctors who promote false and misleading information related to COVID-19, including information about COVID-19 vaccines.
The California Senate voted 32–8 to approve the bill on Aug. 29, about three months after the California Assembly passed it 53–20. All Democrat state senators voted yes, along with Republican Sen. Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh.
The legislation, Assembly Bill 2098, says that “It shall constitute unprofessional conduct for a physician and surgeon to disseminate misinformation or disinformation related to COVID-19, including false or misleading information regarding the nature and risks of the virus, its prevention and treatment; and the development, safety, and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines.”
Misinformation is defined as “false information that is contradicted by contemporary scientific consensus contrary to the standard of care.” Disinformation is defined as “misinformation that the licensee deliberately disseminated with malicious intent or an intent to mislead.”
Assemblyman Evan Low, a Democrat who sponsored the legislation, said it would give medical boards in California tools to discipline a licensee who promotes misinformation or disinformation.
...Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, has 12 days to sign the bill, approve it without signing, or veto it. He has not appeared to signal what he intends to do.

This institutionalizes and requires unethical doctoring by law. It is a brute-force fascist law that puts a metaphysical gun to the head of any doctor who dares question the standard of care, any CDC recommendation, etc.
The Science is now explicitly stated as defined by consensus. Science is not and has never been about consensus; that is a contradiction in terms. This is Orwellian Scientism.
If my doctor had told me that natural immunity was as good or better than vaccination (now acknowledged even by the CDC to be at least as good as vaccination), could that doctor be disciplined and stripped of their medical license? Sued for malpractice if a patient contracted COVID? Ditto for all the other COVID hoaxes promulgated by the CDC for years.
First they come for your neighbor, then they come for you. If they can stomp on doctors and the doctor/patient relationship, they can do anything to you for you.

WIND: exactly. I feel horrified for doctors, let alone patients.
Speaking generally, you cannot trust doctors on anything at this point. It is just a sad fact of life now, with paint-by-numbers assembly line “care”.
Doctors were herded en masse into large managed care organizations or similar by Obamacare, and so most had already lost the ability to practice medicine as they saw fit years ago. Still, they did not This cements in the grout between those millstones.
