Pearl Izumi P.R.O. In-R-Cool Short

I’ve used Pearl Izumi cycling shorts for about fifteen years.

My favorite cycling short as of spring 2011 is now the Pearl Izumi P.R.O In-R-Cool. They cost about $145. That’s a lot of money for a short, but when spending hours on a bike, it’s foolish to compromise on the butt-to-bike interface. Plus, mine have always lasted for years.

This new short dispenses with the troublesome drawstring waist band, and instead uses a generous stretch band— a much superior design which helps the short conform to the body even better.

I weighed my new shorts (size men’s large) at 187 grams.

The shorts fit snugly and are very comfortable, and do seem to offer terrific breathability.

To forestall any confusion, the actual tag on the shorts I bought is shown below.
