The idea that the human organism evolved with sunlight without being in synergy with its physiology is absolutely ludicrous. It ranks right up there with “formula is superior to breast milk”.
My personal belief (bias based on a lifetime lived) is that sunlight is an essential “nutrient” for human health via various photobiomodulation effects, and that the medical profession (as in many other areas) has largely damaged public health by insisting on minimizing sun exposure.

Over the past few decades, people have become increasingly aware of the risks associated with excessive exposure to UV radiation from sunlight, including skin cancer, photoaging, and cataracts.
However, appropriate sun exposure provides benefits that are crucial for human health. Growing evidence suggests that sun exposure not only helps prevent and treat a variety of diseases, but insufficient exposure to sunlight may also increase the risk of cancer.

WIND: sun makes me feel good. There are surely negative effects from excessive exposure, but that’s true about everything. The question is about appropriate dosing, just as with food, medicine and sleep.
