The 2011 Moots MootoX RSL 18" frame shown below was built for testing as of mid-August 2011 (same build as with Moots YBB 26).
Moots describes the Mooto X RSL 29er
I shall certainly press the MootoX RSL to an epic ride at some point, to see just how comfortable a 29er titanium racing bike can be.
Intended Use: Cross Country and Short Track Racing.
Built for serious cross country MTB Racing, the MootoX RSL was developed with the same principles that guided the design of our Vamoots RSL; from the ground up, design and build the finest performing 29" titanium cross country race bike available with zero compromise to the longstanding Moots quality and lifetime durability.
It's quick responsiveness and decisive handling comes from key features like an oversized head tube for zero-stack headsets, an oversized Press Fit 30 bottom bracket for more immediate power transfer in the drive line and an oversized butted seat tube to provide increased stiffness and strength in tandem with a 30.9 seat post.
Additionally, the formed down tube provides increased fork clearance while the formed chain stays and re-designed rear triangle offer increased tire clearance while reducing weight
All of the features of the MootoX RSL seamlessly come together to create an exceptionally fast and nimble cross country race bike.
Frameset
I obtained the Moots MootoX RSL frame at Palo Alto Bicycles. I depend on the expertise of Neil in the service department there— he’s the guy to specify and build your custom bike like this Moots MootoX RSL, because he knows all the tricky details of a high-end build, with long experience with a huge variety of bikes.
Build kit
I bought my build kit at BikeBling.com., in Escondido, CA. BikeBling has a wide variety of cycling gear— give them a try.
BikeBling.com also supplied the Easton EC90 Carbon 29er wheelset, which amazingly is only 10% heavier than the 26" version.
