Last night I resumed weight training, doing 50 squats with the Olympic bar with 135 pounds. This morning, my weight had spiked 2.5 pounds (natural reaction by the body), and my legs were quite sore.
Then today I went out and obliterated my previous year-to-date personal best, moving up from 228 watts to 247 watts for my usual ride, and I wasn’t even trying very hard the first half of the ride.
How can such things happen? See my March 7 training log entry for my thoughts on why such things make a lot more sense than one might think.
