Shown below is sunset at Russian Ridge open space preserve, the 'Ridge Trail', one of my favorite trails at sunset.
I watched this coyote tense up, then leap into the air, then pounce, being rewarded with a fat gopher or ground squirrel, which it quickly tore in two and scarfed down in about 20 seconds. He (or she) seemed quite pleased with himself, and not at all concerned with me, which might worry anyone with small children carrying a squirrel stuffy.
Shown below is my Moots MootoX RSL handlebar with the Garmin Edge 500 and the Lupine Betty II LED light and its “wrap” battery, for getting home safely at dusk. The 2012 RockShox SID 29 remote lockout is seen at handlebar right.
A Moots titanium bar is on order, and a titanium stem will go into place once I determine the best length and angle.
An intense sunset on Ridge Trail at Russian Ridge open space preserve (San Francisco Bay Area). Often there is a sea of fog below, but not this night.
Two deer graze at dusk on the Ridge Trail.
