On Track for 1 Million Vertical Feet

Today, I am “in the black”: I’m now on track for totaling over a million vertical feet of climbing for 2011. I did little climbing early in 2011, and accumulated a deficit, but massive climbing later in the year made that up. I lost quite a bit of riding time due to travel in Sept/Oct/Nov that put me a bit behind, but perseverence pays off.

I track my workouts every day, especially ascent.

UPDATE: A pox on Microsoft Excel and it’s DAYS360() function: that leaves 5 days out, and as of Nov 19, 2011, I am actually about 6700 vertical feet behind on the ascent needed to be on track for 1 million vertical. I will catch up soon enough, but the cold weather and rain are making it a challenge. I need to average 2880 feet per day until the end of 2011 in order to hit the 1M foot mark.
