Moots Psychlo X RSL — Image Gallery and Build Notes
My Moots Psychlo X RSL is now built-up (by Palo Alto Bicycles), and she is a beauty: 18.3 pounds ready to ride with bottle cages, Shimano XTR 'Trail' pedals, Schwalbe knobby cross tires, double bar wrap, cloth wrap of chainstay, hand-built aluminum wheelset.
Certainly one could obtain a set of the Lightweight Standard wheels and drop about 1.1 pounds off the bike weight.
The “lines” are ultra-clean, with only one (1) cable to the rear brake showing, no cantilever post, etc. Wow! This might be the first Psychlo X RSL built up this way with Shimano DuraAce Di2, according to Moots.
See the Moots Psychlo X RSL image gallery (3 pages) and Moots Psychlo X RSL build notes and riding notes.
It was a 70° F winter day here in sunny California, and I enjoyed the Psychlo X RSL on a 3.5 hour ride. It will get a workout on the Death Valley Double soon, but probably running Schwalbe Ultremo ZX 700 X 28C tires.
