Real science is never settled, and anyone who has certainty on such things is not qualified to discuss it.
Were I going to take the risk of a COVID vaccine, it ought to give me robust long-lasting protection, and grant me some return to normalcy.
The Epoch Times: Fauci Says Mask Should Still Be Worn, Even If Vaccinated Against COVID-19

Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday that masks should still be worn by those who are vaccinated against COVID-19 as they serve as an important tool in preventing the spread of the virus and compliment the shots.
During an interview on ABC’s “This Week”, the White House coronavirus response team member said that he did not believe masks would be going away any time in the near future and urged individuals to continue wearing them regardless of their vaccination status.
...Fauci was asked if vaccinated individuals should feel comfortable doing so, to which he replied, “No, I do. If you are vaccinated and boosted and are prudent when you travel, when you are in an airport, to be wearing a mask all the time, you have to be wearing a mask on a plane.”
“Do not do things like go to gatherings where there are people who you do not know what their vaccination status is,” he said. “If you do that, and some people are even going the extra step or the extra mile, or maybe even getting tested when you have people coming over the house.

WIND: Dr Fauci is literally saying that you must demand the vaccination status of all family members (and others), and refuse to interact with them if they are not vaccinated. At XMAS and Hanukkah, etc.
Note the failure to mention natural immunity. That alone suffices to show how him as a political operative posing as a medical expert. Someone who won’t even mention a critical factor is a con artist.
Vaccinated and boosted and you still need a mask? I am gratified to hear Dr Fauci implicitly acknowledging that the pandemic of the vaccinated is in full swing. Because the vaccinated indeed are at risk, as my wife can attest. Vaccinated people are getting infected, and infecting others, and Dr Fauci is implicitly acknowledging that fact. No other credible explanation is at hand, and now Omicron drives that point home, though perhaps Omicron would be a gift for a vaccinated healthy person (free of significant risk factors).
I posit that it is the vaccinated now prolonging this epidemic, and that those with natural immunity have small role to play. Is there more than even 10% of the adult population which is neither vaccinated nor has natural immunity and has no pre-existing resistance to COVID (from past coronavirii)? And why can’t the CDC tell us with hard data obtained via randomized surveillance?
Please, Dr Fauci, cite at least three (is there even one?) credible scientific studies showing that masks as actually worn by the public do anything to slow community transmission. Because your original position was that the public did not need and should not wear masks. Were you lying then or are you lying now (or both)? And how did decades of medical policy vs masks (WHO, etc) turn 180° into “mask always and everywhere”?
I am unaware of any credible scientific study demonstrating that masks as actually worn by the public do anything to slow community transmission. But much as I despise wearing a mask, I can go with airplane masking, simply because turning one’s head left or right and talking sends out a plume, at very close range.
And so Dr Fauci’s advice comes across as fear-mongering, combined with a blindness to risk assessment, which at least articulating tradeoffs and benefits. Meaning that evidence of masks is nil, as well as the unstated but obvious premise that mental health is a 3rd-rate stepchild of physical health, if it is even worth considering at all.
Dr Fauci spent the last 4 decades as a career bureaucrat. His past ethical conduct with people (AIDS) as well as torturing animals for useless experiments calls into question his very humanity. And because we are supposed to follow his advice, I think that matters, and a lot more than one might think, because people do not change their character. I also think it is fair to ask whether he has any credible direct medical experience treating patients that is not 40 years out of date. Touted as an expert, I’d not trust him with my life were I in dire need. That’s how non-credible he comes across. And perhaps unfair to him but it must be said: I see a face with cold calculating lifeless eyes, not the eyes of a gentle and kind soul.
