Death Toll From “Bomb Cyclone” Storm Hits 25 in Buffalo
You’re being buffaloed.
We are told that it’s a “bomb cyclone”, a storm of “epic proportions”, blah, blah, blah.
The headlines scream “Death Toll From Storm in Buffalo, N.Y., Region Rises to at Least 25”.
BTW, bad drivers abound every day, just because a car-crash fatality happens during a storm does not make it a storm death. Like dying with COVID, not from it.
Man, it was nice here yesterday—70°F and sunny. That’s what California rewards you with for putting up with 3rd-world shithole governance.
I grew up with storms. It’s a few days of snow and cold. One big so-what and a great excuse to not have to go to school. Storms are majestic, a treat, if you reframe and handle it right*.
If you aren’t a dumb-fuck, you set up to enjoy the winter spectacle, a real treat. You don’t do stupid shit, like drive 100 miles to Grandma’s place**, or try to fly across the country. Or go outside and shovel snow at -10°F and then come back in and have a heart attack 3 hours later***. If you do, that’s on you.
Meanwhile, over in Chicago, every weekend 12-80 people are shot. Well, the bitter cold dropped that to “only” 13 shot on XMAS weekend, which must be another kind of record low. Shot dead in a city with some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, which the people doing the shooting laugh at, while hapless citizens denied the right of self defense are cannon fodder for policies that pile failure upon failure. And the press dutifully ignores it all.
The real crisis here is a worth-than-worthless FBI/CIA-run “news” media that ignores the war-zone violence in liberal-run cities all over the USA, with shootings and lootings and armed robberies by the thousands, each and every day.
All while talking heads masturbate over a bitterly cold snowstorm caused by... global warming—wait... why isn’t climate change a topic in all this storm talk? Surely some “expert” out there can make the connection between hotter and colder? Heads they win, tails you lose.
* I’ll back-off somewhat for those who lose electricity or those stuck without NatGas from anti-life 'green is the new brown' energy policies. That does suck.
** Extra points for driving an EV in sub-zero temperatures and wearing a T-shirt. Still more points for being enough of green freak asshole to think you can charge it at -10°F since solar panels and windmills are all generating like crazy in the middle of winter. For the ignorant, the reason you cannot charge LiIon below freezing (a balmy 32°F) is that LiIon cells are destroyed when charged below freezing. That’s why they have to be heated before charging (wasting a shit-ton of energy) and why your garage has to be heated too... hmmm... is that calculated into the 'green' propaganda for EVs?
*** Especially in older men, rapid and severe temperature changes especially with exertion can lead to blood clots, which means ischemia of some kind.
