AI is going to be very useful in a very large number of narrow areas of specialty. Everywhere else, a huge disappointment.
There is no “I” in AI
AI is a pattern-matching mimickry engine lacking any ability to think whatsoever, which is immediately evident in any interaction. And it fails the Turing test right away. All it is is an extremely sophisticated pattern-matching and pattern-generating piece of software. No thinking no brain, no intelligence, not knowledge.
It is not even a bad idiot savant. It’s a liar that does not just spew falsehoods, but makes up fake evidence for its lies and defames people.
Lies in, lies out
As a mimickry engine, is is trained on all the crap that makes up the internet today eg GIGO, and with a strong political bias. Anything it emits has to be checked, the problem being that most people will not.
There is no Aye in AI
Ask AI questions that tread anywhere controversial, and instead of “aye...” (helpful objective information), you’ll get woke bromides and lies based on politics. Which will be repeatedly with an apology if you catch the AI in a falsehood.
