Easton EC90 XC 29er Wheelset — Ride Quality
In a word, ride quality is OUTSTANDING— fully meeting my expectations. These comments apply to both the 29er and 26" wheelsets.
- Handling and comfort — the EC90 XC wheels are stiff enough to resist lateral cornering forces extremely well, yielding excellent handling characteristics, yet providing enough compliance for a very comfortable ride.
- Silence — not once did I hear spoke creak or noise from the EC90 XC wheels, not even under high-wattage acceleration (500+ watts for me), or on rough downhill sections.
- Trueness — zero signs of wheel true issues after 30,000' or so of climbing in several hundred miles, just smooth rolling as new.
In short, I can’t find anything to criticize with the Easton EC90 XC 29er wheelset, which is quite a statement, since I’m a very picky guy. Only long term use can determine whether there are issues to be aware of.
I did not test whether coyote teeth can damage the wheels.
