Real science is never settled, and anyone who has certainty on such things is not qualified to discuss it.

While I don’t consider The Lancet a reliable journal any more (they did that to themselves with gross negligence at the start of the COVID thing and have gone way into political topics now), most doctors and most people still do.

WIND: is this actually news to anyone paying attention?

Being vaccinated reduces your risk of being infected and of severe symptoms, but protection declines relatively quickly, and the weak/infirm as a rule do not mount a robust immune system response to begin with, leaving them sort-of-vaccinated. Still, at-risk people should consider the vaccine as it offers protection, imperfect as it might be.
