Six days ago in Body says “GO”, so Aggressively Pushing up Fitness and Body Fat Down for 2018, I wrote about a terrific ride—fluid with excellent power so early in the season.
Today I repeated that effort but about 16 minutes faster (03:08:22 vs 03:24:38) including sustained power output at the end at very high levels (though it was about 2 miles shorter). Peak power efforts on the climbing repeats were substantially faster on average, and average power 2 watts higher. Subjectively, it was a terrific workout. I felt stronger and could push higher wattage at low rpms. As with that day my body seems to be “in the zone” after several mediocre years.
